Council committee backs bollard return, but it may not be permanent

People in a West Sechelt neighbourhood are asking the District to return the traffic bollards to Baillie Road.

District staff say they were a temporary measure and leaving them up could interfere with maintenance and emergency vehicles.

The issue went to the public works committee this week.

Councillor Alice Lutes says if the neighbourhood wants permanent traffic calming the District should pay attention.

Others though, argue the bollards should only go back up temporarily to keep construction traffic from using the road, and should come down in the future.

The question still has to go to full Council.
