They’re calling it “No Fracking with our Future“. The Mid-Island Council of Canadians is hosting the LNG Townhall in a response to the government-sponsored LNG Regional Energy Seminar that rolled through Nanaimo a few weeks ago.
Eoin Finn with the Future of Howe Sound Society will be speaking at the event. He has been studying the science and economics of LNG.
Finn says the government should be taking the lead in informing the public of the risks and trade-offs.
Finn will be joined by Vancouver filmmaker Damian Gillis, co-director of Fractured Land – a documentary about natural gas “fracking”. The event on Wednesday, January 28 at Beban Park runs from 7:00-9:00pm.
