Nanaimo RCMP searching for 2 vehicles after abduction on Tues

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for two vehicles thought to be involved in an abduction on Tuesday. They’re asking people to be on the lookout for a 2014 grey Toyota Sienna with BC plate 649MPN and a 2014 silver GMC Terrain with BC plate 398MSM. They have four people are in custody and kidnapping charges are pending.

A witness called 9-1-1 around 4:00pm after seeing suspects in masks trying to force two men into a van in the back parking lot of the Foundry Pub at 125 Skinner Street. One man managed to get away.

Constable Gary O’Brien says the information from the witness, coupled with video surveillance footage and knowledge of people involved in criminal activity led police to a home on Jingle Pot Rd. That’s where they arrested 3 men and 1 woman between 20 and 38 years old.

O’Brien says the two victims were 17 and 31 years old.  He says police believe there’s a drug connection to the incident but it’s still early in the investigation.

Anyone with information on the incident or the location of the two vehicles are asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
