More talk about Ferries at the Legislature, as the opposition renewed calls for the government to step in and stop BC Ferries from hiking fares in April.
North Island MLA Claire Trevena and Gary Holman of Saanich North and the Islands led the arguments for the NDP.
They say high fares are killing coastal communities. Holman says the latest traffic numbers showing a drop in commercial vehicles on the Sunshine Coast route is especially worrying.
Stone shot back, accusing the NDP of hoping for “magical” solutions, and refusing to back new ideas like fixed links to some Gulf Islands, LNG fueled ships and cable ferries.
