SD 46 says RCMP called to investigate after students spot driver with gun

Officials with School District 46 are releasing details about what they’re describing as a “student safety incident”.

They say staff and students on their way back from a field trip in Vancouver where driving up the Langdale bypass when they spotted a man in another vehicle who appeared to be holding a pistol.

One of the teachers managed to get the vehicle’s plate number and a description of the driver and passenger and called RCMP.

Sunshine Coast RCMP were able to track down the vehicle.

They also put an officer on the school bus to question the students and staff.
