The Snuneymuxw First Nation is looking for some input on the future of Newcastle Island, which is part of their traditional territory.
hosting an Open House on Saturday in Maffeo Sutton Park.
SFN has been working with BC Parks and the City on the first phase of a business plan for Newcastle.
Trish Malfair is SFN’s Newscastle Island Coordinator.
Malfair says they’re considering building a cultural and interpretive centre on Newcastle, and they’re also looking at ideas like building a foot bridge, or having some sort of year-round transportation.
The Open House on Saturday runs from 1-4pm.
