A familiar face from Sunshine Coast farmers markets is soon to be a familiar face on book shelves.
Chris Hergesheimer of Roberts Creek calls himself the “Flour Peddler”, after his bicycle powered mill.
When Hergesheimer discovered the economics of being a small scale, local, miller weren’t working he decided to stop. But his brother Josh, a photojournalist, had another idea.
That journey led to a race to get out of Sudan before getting swept up in the violence of an emerging civil war, among other adventures.
Chris says it was a tough creative challenge working together, and telling what amounted to two stories.
The launch of “The Flour Peddler; A Global Journey Into Local Food” is Friday, March 27 at 7pm at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt.
