The Transportation Safety Board says modifications to a float plane played a role in a 2013 crash off the North Island.
3 people died when the Air Cab Cessna went down on West Cracroft Island on a charter flight from Port McNeill.
TSB investigators found there had been several modifications to the plane, all approved by Transport Canada, but there was no record of how those changes affected the plane’s handling and performance.
That meant the pilot may not have had a proper sense of how the aircraft would perform in various situations.
